It is one of the architectural jewels of Cusco, built between 1560 and 1664 on the site of kiswar kancha, where the palace of the god Wiracocha used to be.<\/p>

The cathedral of Cusco, has a large and vast collection of canvases of the Cusco school. Its structure is composed of a Latin cross, its facade by a Renaissance style, the interior of the cathedral of Cusco is finely decorated with pieces worked in cedar and alder wood. The main altar is finely covered with silver sheets, there is the image of the Virgin of the Assumption. The Temple of San Blas, is the oldest in the entire city of Cusco, built on an Inca sanctuary dedicated to the God of Lightning, lightning and thunder.<\/p>

They say it was inaugurated in 1544, during the period of the second bishop of Cusco, Fray Juan Solano, and others say it was in 1559 by the viceroy Andres Hurtado de Mendoza.<\/p>

It was built on the hill Colcampata, on the initiative of Christopher Paullo, was a member of the Inca nobility and owner of the land of Colcampata. It was the first church that was built in Cusco, built in the sixteenth century had a second construction in the seventeenth century with the auspices of Bishop Mollinedo, where his coat of arms is on the lintel of the entrance door to the bell tower.<\/p>

In the interior of this temple there are several paintings and the image of the Virgin in the central altar. In the lateral walls you can appreciate paintings of San Miguel archangel, the martyrdom of San Pedro, Salom\u00e9 and Herodes, etc. And the one that stands out the most is the image of San Cristobal.
